Speech and Language

Speech-language pathologists work one-on-one with children from birth to age 21 to support communication and feeding needs. Sessions are centered around functional play and structured around each child's goals.

Care settingServices may be provided in the clinic and, when appropriate, in home, daycare, preschool, or school settings.

  • Speech sound disorders such as articulation, phonological processes, childhood apraxia, and unintelligible speech

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy helps children become more independent in everyday tasks. Treatment supports children and families when play, feeding, dressing, fine-motor work, sensory processing, learning, or social participation feel difficult.

  • Fine-motor skills such as coloring, tracing, drawing, pencil grasp, handwriting, and clothing fasteners
  • Self-care tasks such as using feeding utensils, buttons, buckles, zippers, snaps, and tying shoelaces
  • Strength, movement, balance, coordination, and using both sides of the body together
  • Visual processing, sensory processing, emotional regulation, transitions, social interaction, learning, and play skills

Developmental Therapy

Developmental therapy supports children in the Arkansas First Connection Early Intervention program when testing shows delays in one or more key areas of development.

AgesBirth to age 3
Care settingServices are provided weekly or monthly in a child's natural environment, such as home, daycare, or preschool, when the EI plan calls for support.

May help with

  • Adaptive daily-living skills such as eating with utensils, dressing, bathing, grooming, and potty training
  • Personal, social, and emotional skills, including positive relationships with peers and adults
  • Communication skills, including understanding language and expressing everyday needs
  • Fine motor, gross motor, cognitive skills, attention, memory, thinking, and learning through daily routines
